Focus on the career of Guillaume Latour

Passed by the CNSM in the class of Olivier Charlier, Guillaume Latour studies in parallel the musical analysis, the composition and the direction of orchestra. He is notably the winner of the first prize in the competition for young violinists Radio France "Kingdom of Music" as well as the Zulawski prize, His concerts have taken him to the most beautiful European venues, such as the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord in Paris, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Teatro Nacional in Madrid, or Wigmore Hall in London. He also plays regularly in the United States, South America, and Asia.

Between 2006 and 2012, he held the position of concertmaster at the Toulon Opera and then joined the Diotima quartet. Passionate about chamber music, he recorded, among other things, Schubert's two-cello quintet, with Anne Gastinel (Naïve), the complete works of the second Viennese school, and Pierre Boulez's "book for quartet". Guillaume Latour also collaborates with the pianist Célimène Daudet. Together they won the international ProMusicis prize.

His collaborations with current composers are numerous. He creates pieces and collaborates with Gérard Pesson, Alberto Posadas, Helmuth Lachenmann, Pierre Boulez, Brian Ferneyhough, Georg Friedrich Haas.

In 2017, after years of collaborations, concerts and tours, he created with cellist and drummer Pierre-François Dufour, alias Titi, the duo VV, whose album was released in 2018.

Guillaume Latour has performed solo or in chamber music at the Berlin Philharmonic, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Forbidden City Hall in Beijing, Wigmore Hall in London, Teatro Nacional in Madrid, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires , at the Library of Congress in Washington, at the Philharmonie de Paris...
